{第三世界ショップとの出逢い｝
ずっと以前から、「女性や子供の役に立つ仕事がしたい」と考えながら、会社員（営業）をやっていました。新聞記事で東京で女性起業支援セミナーがあることを知り、早速受講。当時は何ができるのか手探りの状態でしたが、そこで初めて「フェアトレード」というコトバに出会い、「これや！」と。このセミナーの主催者の外郭団体がフェアトレードの老舗「第三世界ショップ」さんで、それ以来現在までお付き合いが続いています。
｛cafe LIPIJAオープン｝
フェアトレード商品をメイン食材にしたcafeをオープンすることで、お客様には美味しくて安らげる空間の提供を、自分には国際貢献できて食べていける仕事をと考え、2002年11月30日に大阪市東淀川区相川でcafe LIPIJAをオープンすることができました。
第三世界ショップからは紅茶、チャイ、ココア、カレースパイス、ワイン、メープルシロップ、玄米ビーフンを、またウインドファームというコーヒーのフェアトレード商社からエクアドル産のコーヒー豆を仕入れ、安全で安心できるお飲物とお食事をご提供。オープン直前にはコーヒー農園を見学し、フェアトレードを実際に現場で体感するするため、エクアドルへも行ってきました。
｛cafe LIPIJA名前の由来｝
2001年から財団法人プランジャパン（http://www.plan-japan.org）へ寄付を始めました。自分には子供がいないので、世界のどこかに自分と繋がった子供がいたら素敵だなあと思って。プランジャパンからバングラデシュの女の子を紹介されました。その女の子の名前がLIPIJA。ベンガル語でLIPI＝知、JA＝娘という意味だそうです。日本的に言えば「知子ちゃん」というところでしょうか。彼女と文通を始めてから、バングラデシュのことが気になりだしました。今まで読まなかった新聞の国際面も、バングラの記事がないかと探すうちに、国際問題に関する意識を持つようにもなってきました。彼女の名前を店名にしようと考えたのは、自然な流れでした。残念ながらLIPIJAとの文通は、昨年彼女の結婚と同時に終了してしまいました。まだ中学を卒業したばかりですが、貧しい農村地域では口減らしのために早く結婚させられてしまうことがあります。政府は18歳未満の結婚を禁止していますが、守られていないのが現状のようです。彼女が幸福に暮らしていることを祈るばかりです。現在西アフリカのベナンという国のブランディーヌちゃんという少女と、新しい交流が始まっています。アフリカは本当に遠い国ですが、いつの日か彼女に会いに訪ねて行ければ、と思っています。
｛現在までの活動｝
LIPIJAを運営するうちに、バングラデシュのスラムで学校を設立・運営されている植村さん、バングラデシュの郊外の村に井戸を自費で建設された羽田さんなど、様々な方とお知り合いになることができ、現在は植村さんの学校の応援をしています。毎年吹田市駅前でおこなわれる「アジアンフェア」や国際交流センターで行われる「ワンワールドフェスティバル」では、バングラデシュカレーなどを販売。利益は全額、学校に寄付しています。バングラデシュも3回訪問しました。プランが運営するストリートチルドレンの保護センターや農村でのプロジェクトを見学させていただいたり、スラムの学校の子供たちと遊んだり、バングラデシュとの絆はどんどん太くなってきています。店舗の移転に伴い、従来の活動に加えて新しい活動やイベントを計画しています。その都度お知らせして参りますので、興味のある方はどんどんアクセスしてくださいね。

1968年生まれ。日本の大学を中退、米国の環境系オルタナティブスクールを卒業後、岡山県での研修を経て、某県山中で陶芸の工房を8年ほど主宰。その後、NPO法人の理事として、コミュニティカフェの設立＆運営に関わりました。

その際に、LIPIJAオーナーの矢野氏と出会い、エクアドルの有機無農薬コーヒーのカフェへの納品でお世話になりました。 その後、小さな翻訳事務所の仕事などを経験した後、介護職員として介護の現場を1年ほど経験しました。
海外経験、NPO運営、対人援助職などの経験から、今現在でのこの国の、人と人とのつながり、出会いのあり方というものについて、ずっと考えて来ました。 そういう本当に基礎的な部分の再構築が、今、この国に一番求められている-という考えが、ここ数年、アタマから離れませんでした。
遠い第三世界の国々の人々とのつながりをメインコンセプトに、ずっと運営されてきたLIPIJAが、移転に伴い、バー運営に乗り出すことになった時、私が真っ先に思いついた、コンセプトは「association」というコトバでした。つまりは、国家や地域社会、カイシャといった、強制力をもった「つながり＝縛り」を超えた、自立した諸個人の自発的な、境界を越えた「つながり」をあらわす、最も適切な西洋語が「association」であると、少々強引ですが、私は理解いたしております。
夜のバータイムは、色々なシガラミを越えた、多様な人々のざっくばらんな真の出会いの場でありたい、という思い込めて、愉快にやっていきたいと願っております。どうぞ、みなさん、お気楽にグラスを傾けてリラックスしにお越しいただけましたら、本当にさいわいです。 心よりのご来店をお待ちいたしております。よろしくお願いいたします。
